Shanghai Children's Art Theatre (SAIC Roewe Children's Cultural Center) is the largest children's theatre in the country. The theatre is located by the Huangpu River at the Miaojiang intersection of South Tibet Road, covering an area of 10,528 square meters and a building area of 15,668 square meters.The theatre is committed to creating a children's public welfare, iconic and international visual art experience center with advanced concepts and distinctive features, building an all-round, multi-functional and comprehensive public platform for cultural and art services, and becoming a world-class children art theatre.
The theatre can accommodate 1,088 spectators. It is equipped with a 360-degree central rotating lift stage, a classic framed stage and a talent show stage. It has a large LED screen background exclusively customized of a pixel pitch of 6mm, and a 270-degree high-definition full-frame projection screen, preparing a variety of options for drama creation and performance that it could be viewed from different angles without fail.
The theatre also has a multi-function hall, a children's drama gallery, an interactive experience room and a movie theatre. In the future, the theatre will make full use of its own conditions and location advantages to develop theatrical performances, film projections, education and training, tourism exhibitions and more, to create a happy and open the dream world for children.
