Energy-saving Technology Applied to the Hongkong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge

On March 24th, 2018, the most high-profile press conference held by SANSI in Zhuhai city. Participants included the world's authority experts in transportation, Chinese lighting experts and engineers of Chinese design institutes etc. Widely recognized as the industry standard for lighting designer and manufacturer, SANSI’s position as a global leader in industrial LED lighting and solutions received the highest honors with the company completing the longest lighting project - Hong Kong–Zhuhai–Macau bridge.

Hongkong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge, is the longest sea-crossing bridge in the world, which consists of a series of three cable-stayed bridges and one undersea tunnel, as well as three artificial islands in 29.6 kilometers, spanning the Lingdingyang channel, that connects Hong Kong with Macau and Zhuhai with a length of 55 kilometers, three major cities on the Pearl River Delta in China. The 55 kilometers bridge is the longest fixed-links in the world and is a major landmark in the area, the most expensive and most difficult sea-crossing in China’s construction history and listed as one of The Seven Wonders of The Modern World.

Traffic engineering project manager of China Railway Construction Electronic Bureau Group Mr. Cai, the minister of traffic engineering project Mr. Yuan, Mr. Shi of Beijing traffic highway survey and design institute, and the deputy general manager of Shanghai SANSI electronic engineering Yinghua Wang delivered a keynote report to the Hongkong-Zhuhai-Macau bridge lighting project, which considered as the most complex lighting project.

Participating in the fierce competition with many chinese top manufacturers, SANSI was selected as a winner for over 25 years’ of extensive projects experience and creatively engineered LED solutions. The whole line LED products of this impressive LED project are supplied by SANSI illuminates three cities. SANSI’s lighting solution proved its flexibility in illuminating seven bridge towers’ facade. This is comprised of LED ceramic street lights, LED landscape lights and LED bulbs, all slightly different to one another in shape, size, and the angle at which they are installed. Although we were confronted with complex geological and topographical conditions, taking into account prevailing winds and tidal forces, SANSI ceramic street light, which incorporates the latest engineering technology and design, enabling the structure withstand a magnitude 8 earthquake, a super typhoon or a strike. The creative nightscape design of Hongkong-Zhuhai-Macau bridge plays more attention to fluctuations of rhythm and the three navigable hole bridges look like “pearls” while the two artificial islands like “a pair of jades”, both of them are core areas of night view lighting.
